Ticket sale schedule
Set when tickets start and stop selling, and pause, resume, or hide tickets.
With a sale schedule, you decide when attendees can buy a ticket type. This is useful for strategies like an Early Bird ticket that stops selling before Regular tickets open. This article explains how to set it up.
Setting the sale date & time
- Open the Tickets tab, then edit the ticket type you want to set.
- Fill in the Sale Start field with the date & time the ticket goes on sale.
- Fill in the Sale End field with the date & time the ticket stops selling.
- Save your changes.
Before the start time, the ticket can’t be bought yet. After the end time, the ticket automatically stops selling.
If you leave both fields empty, the ticket is on sale from when the event is published until the event ends. If you fill them in, Sale Start and Sale End can’t be later than the event’s start time.
Ticket sale status
Besides the schedule, every ticket type has a Sale Status that you can change anytime in the ticket form:
- Active — the ticket is shown to attendees and can be bought according to the sale schedule.
- Paused — the ticket is still shown to attendees with a Sales Paused label, but can’t be bought until you resume it.
- Hidden — the ticket isn’t shown to attendees and can’t be bought.
Changing the status doesn’t delete the ticket data, so you can switch it back anytime.
In the Tickets tab, the Status column combines the schedule and the sale status: tickets outside their schedule show Not started or Ended, while manual statuses show Paused or Hidden.
Pausing & resuming sales
For a live event, you can pause sales with one click:
- Open the Tickets tab on your event.
- Click the Pause sales button (⏸ icon) on the ticket type’s row. On your phone, tap the ⋯ icon on the ticket card, then choose Pause sales.
- To open sales again, click Resume sales (▶ icon) on the same row.
This button can’t be used when sales can’t be paused, for example when the event has ended, the event isn’t published yet, the ticket is hidden, or its sale schedule has already passed. The reason appears when you hover over the button (on your phone, it’s written below the menu option).
Pausing is handy when you need to hold sales for a while, for example to check the quota or wait for venue confirmation, without making the ticket disappear from the event page.
