Quota & purchase limits
Set ticket stock and the minimum and maximum per order, and understand how sold and reserved tickets are tracked.
Quotas and purchase limits help you control ticket availability and prevent bulk buying. This article explains how to set them and how the system tracks tickets that are sold and those being held.
Ticket quota (stock)
The quota is the maximum number of tickets available for one ticket type. When the quota runs out, attendees automatically can’t order that ticket anymore.
Max Per Order
The Max Per Order field limits how many tickets can be bought in one order. It helps spread purchases more evenly and reduces the risk of someone buying up all the tickets.
Min Per Order
The Min Per Order field sets the minimum number of tickets that must be bought in one order. The default is 1, which means there’s no minimum. It’s useful for tickets sold per group, such as a package for two people. The value can’t be greater than Max Per Order (it can be equal).
When an attendee picks a ticket with a minimum above 1, the quantity automatically starts at that minimum. Lowering it below the minimum removes the ticket from the order instead of leaving an invalid quantity.
- Open the Tickets tab, then edit a ticket type.
- Fill in the Quota with the amount of stock available.
- Set the Min Per Order and Max Per Order.
- Save your changes.
Tracking sold & reserved tickets
The system automatically tracks two important numbers:
- Sold — tickets whose payment is complete.
- Reserved (held) — tickets that are in the middle of checkout and haven’t been fully paid for yet.
Tickets being held temporarily reduce availability too, so the quota isn’t oversold. If checkout isn’t completed, the held tickets become available again.
In the Tickets tab, the Stock column shows the number of tickets sold compared to the quota, with a progress bar. The same applies to add-ons.
