Understanding fees when buying tickets
Where the Platform Fee and Payment Fee lines in your order summary come from.
In the order summary, you may see two fee lines on top of the ticket and add-on prices: Platform Fee and Payment Fee. They come from different places and follow different rules — this article explains them so your total doesn’t feel like a mystery.
Platform Fee
The platform fee is Nyebar’s service fee, and who pays it is decided by the organizer when they create the event:
- Paid by the organizer — you don’t see this line at all; the fee is deducted from the organizer’s sales.
- Paid by the buyer — the full platform fee is added to your total.
- Split — you and the organizer each pay half.
It’s calculated from the ticket subtotal after any voucher discount, plus the add-on subtotal. That’s why different events can show different platform fees — or none at all.
Payment Fee
The payment fee is the channel fee for the method you choose, and it’s always paid by the buyer on paid orders:
- QRIS — 1% of the order total.
- Virtual Account (BNI, Permata, Mandiri) — a flat IDR 5,000 per transaction.
- Credit/Debit Card — 3% of the order total plus IDR 2,000.
You can compare the fees when choosing a payment method at checkout — for small orders a VA can cost more than QRIS, and the other way around for large orders. Cards are usually the most expensive, but they’re handy when your e-wallet or bank balance is running low.
Free registrations (a final total of IDR 0) aren’t charged any fees — no platform fee and no payment fee.
