# Duplicating a ticket type

Copy an existing ticket type, along with its custom form, to quickly create a similar ticket type.

If you need a new ticket type that's similar to an existing one, you don't have to fill it in from scratch. The duplicate feature copies all of the ticket's details, including the **Ticket Holder Form**, which is usually the most time-consuming part to rebuild.

## When to duplicate a ticket type

Duplicating works well when:

- You're creating a similar new tier, for example copying **Regular** into **VIP** with the same form.
- Several tickets share a long custom form and only differ in name or price.

## How to duplicate

1. Open the event you manage, then go to the **Tickets** tab.
2. On the row of the ticket type you want to copy, click the **Duplicate** button in the **Actions** column.
3. Confirm in the **Duplicate Ticket Type?** dialog.
4. The copy appears in the list with a "(Copy)" suffix and the **Hidden** status.
5. Adjust its details: name, price, quota, sale schedule, and the form if needed.
6. Change the **Sale Status** to **Active** when the ticket is ready to sell.

> **Copies are created hidden**
>
> A duplicated ticket type is created with the **Hidden** status, so it isn't shown yet and attendees can't buy it. This gives you time to check and adjust it before it goes on sale. The custom form (Ticket Holder Form) is copied too.

> **Save time building forms**
>
> Duplicating is most useful when a ticket has a lot of custom form questions. Just change the parts that are different, then switch its status to **Active**.

> **Not available for events that have ended**
>
> Once the event has ended, ticket types become read-only, so the duplicate button is disabled.
