# Previewing an event

See the event page and try its checkout exactly as attendees will, before the event is published.

Before your event is published, you can see its page exactly as attendees will: the poster, title, date, location, description, terms and conditions, and ticket prices. That way you can check how it looks before you submit it for review.

## Opening the preview

1. Open an event that isn't published yet (status **Draft**, **In Review**, or **Rejected**) from the organizer dashboard.
2. Click **Preview** at the top right of the event page. On a phone, this button is an eye icon.

3. The preview opens in a new tab. A yellow **Preview mode** bar across the top says the event isn't published yet, with a **Back to dashboard** link.

## Trying the checkout

From the preview you can also go through buying a ticket as an attendee would: choose tickets, fill in attendee details and registration questions, pick add-ons, apply a voucher, and see the total with its fees.

1. On the preview page, click **Get Tickets**.
2. Choose tickets and click **Continue**. Fill in attendee details, add-ons, and a voucher as usual.
3. At the bottom, a note says you're in preview mode, and the pay button can't be clicked.

This checkout is only a simulation: ticket, add-on, and voucher quotas don't go down, and no order or payment is created. Vouchers are checked with the same rules as the real checkout, so you can make sure a code applies to the right tickets.

## Good to know

- Only you and your organizer team can open the preview. Anyone else who opens the link sees a page not found.
- Opening the preview doesn't add to the event's **Views** count.
- Ticket types set to **Hidden** don't show in the preview, just like on the public page.

> The main event details are locked once the event is Active. Open the preview, check the poster, title, date, location, and description, then submit for review.

Once the event is Active, the **Preview** button becomes **Public Page**, which opens the real event page.
