# Registering for free events

How registration for free events works on Nyebar, and the limit of one active registration per email for each event.

Registering for a free event uses the same checkout flow as buying a paid ticket — just without the payment step. Once you're done, your registration is confirmed right away and your e-ticket is sent immediately.

## How registration works

1. Open the event page and click **Get Tickets**, then choose an available free ticket.
2. Fill in the attendee details for each ticket as usual.
3. Tick the box to agree to the terms and conditions, then click **Complete Registration**.
4. Your registration is confirmed right away — an email with your e-ticket is sent on the spot.

If you register without an account, email OTP verification still applies — free doesn't mean unverified. Discount codes aren't available for free registrations, since there's nothing to discount.

> **One email, one registration per event**
>
> Each email address can have only one active free registration per event. If you try to register again with the same email, the second registration will be rejected. Registering friends? Use each person's own email in their attendee details.

## When free turns into paid

What decides whether a registration is free is the order's final total. If the ticket is free but you add a paid add-on, your order total becomes more than zero — and the payment step appears just like a regular paid order, complete with its payment deadline.

> **You still need your e-ticket**
>
> Even when it's free, the event still uses e-tickets and QR codes for check-in. Keep your confirmation email and see [Receiving and opening your e-ticket](/en/attendee/e-tickets-and-orders/receiving-your-e-ticket).
